Universal Nonverbal Intelligence Test 2nd Edition (UNIT-2)

With an entirely nonverbal administration and response format, the UNIT2 assesses intelligence, regardless of the student?s language skills, hearing, cultural background, or English proficiency. Its six sub-tests include Symbolic Memory, Non-symbolic Quantity, Analogical Reasoning, Spatial Memory, Numerical Series, and Cube Design.

The examiner employs eight relatively universal hand and body gestures to explain tasks to the examinee. The student responds by pointing, making pencil marks, or using manipulative. The test offers three administration options?Abbreviated, Standard, and Extended Batteries?for screening, diagnostic, and eligibility decisions, respectively. All can be hand- or computer-scored.
UNIT scores predict academic achievement and differentiate among students with intellectual disability, learning disabilities, speech/language impairments, or giftedness.
